I'm not an avid follower of "Flight of the Conchords".
{Though they do make me giggle}
But if Jermaine Clement ever had a long lost sister on the show...

Paris Fashion Week '09

I must confess...
I had intended our journey through the wilds of the Japanese Fashion Week to last a bit longer. But for some unknown reason I was unable to obtain the last of the photograph's. Our ride has been a short one but in consolation, I have today for you, a featured Designer at the Paris Fashion Week that took place April the 9th. So sit back, grab something chewy and edible and enjoy the offerings of Cameroonian designer Anggy Haif.

Defiantly like the patterned dress (see above picture), and the buckle is yummy.
The scarfy necklace thing is pulling it's own well enough.
Even the mask is workin'!

But after further consideration I find that this
just wouldn't be as interesting without it.
In fact I'd probably like it a whole lot less.

In today's news, a model at the Miami Fashion week in Florida
burst suddenly into bright purple flames while prancing about on the runway.
The model seemed to be unaware of the hazard, confusing the audiences
cries of "Stop, drop & roll" as a pun for the dresses attractiveness.
The model is in stable condition and is said to recover soon.
The police suspect foul play.

Miami Fashion Week '09 Part II

Continued!
I thought I should feature some menswear today (courtesy of Munib Nawaz), something I little more subdued and melancholy.

Then a little bit of crazy female stuff at the end to take us home. *smile* I'm excited already.

Ok so we start out with some promising pieces like this one.
Not a big fan of the Guy-liner (maybe he was just born like that...or maybe it's Maybelline! *gasp*). Hairs nice, postures lovely, and the scarf/tie...meh. Can't tell the length of the coat from this pic but I don' think it would matter much either way.
All-in-all: 5 *'s out of 10
It's well tailored and subtle but not boring.

Kind'a feel like this would've done better if not in tux form but to each his own. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't interesting, but it's almost in a distracting way. One thing I do like about it is that I can see the how the designer incorporated his Middle Eastern roots, giving them a spin.

Forever this part of the suit has fascinated me, and I always like to see the designers use it as the focal point of the entire piece.
I'm getting a rabbi/matador/gunslinger vibe from this one.

Not being Pakistani by birth or creed, I don't quite get the thrill of pride when I see this piece as I'd assume someone for the country actually would. But statements of pride for one's country will always be respected here.

OK this next designer Damaris Rubio of the Dominican Republic is apparently either camera shy or just very, very fast. Either way, no picture of him do I have to show you.
Yes. I'm just as disappointed as you are.
But buck up sunshine, I've got a sampling of his work and I have a feeling you're going to like it.

Kind of '80's prom bomb with some French sizzle tossed it. The color is good but the sheen is just making me cringe.

And I'm ready to join in!
The sheer Princess Lea dress looks like it's flows well and the leotard and/or swimsuit is pleasant. The snow queen belt doesn't seem to be hurting any.
I question only the black flower...

Naturally, only mile-high legs could do these pieces justice, and my how they do.
Stunning to say the lest, I like how the proportions are extreme and definite.
Both carry it well but the lady on the left wins my vote.

Um...am I the only one who missed the memo on the petticoat sleeve trend?
These women look like very dangerous curtains.
They also look like they are risking massive wedgies all for the sake of fashion.
Another nod to ones country I suppose.
Thumbs up on the shoes and the flower tiaras are forgivable.

Ricky Ricardo would be proud.
